Advice
to referees from assignors
Referee
training and certifying is an ongoing process. There is
always a lag getting the information to the assignors.
New referees and those referees who feel they are not getting
the desired number of assignments should contact the assignors
in the areas they want to work and so inform them.
Referee
should ask clubs and other entities operating in the area
where they wish to work for the name and phone number of
the local assignor. The N.I.S.L., in some divisions, require
the club to furnish their own assistant referees so contact
the club in your area.
Tell
the assignor the level of games you feel capable of officiating.
Be sure they know whether you are willing to serve as the
center referee or an assistant referee (linesperson) or
both. Make yourself available when needed. Do not turn
down games.
