DIRECTOR OF
COACHING DIPLOMA
The
Director of Coaching Diploma is a 21-hour course designed to address the
issues confronting the Director of an American club. The curriculum has been
created in cooperation with US Club Soccer. It examines the technical,
conceptual, leadership and administrative skills of future and current
Directors of Coaching for youth soccer clubs for the purpose of developing
the American soccer player. This is accomplished through a curriculum rich
in application and theory and will focus on organizational structure,
methods of coaching, leadership theory, evaluation and development of
coaches and players and fiscal, legal and moral responsibility. Candidates
will understand each of the individual units of the club as well as the
interrelationship of those parts to achieve the specific goals and
objectives of a youth soccer club.
ACCEPTANCE INTO THE COURSE REQUIRES:
NSCAA National Diploma or USSF "C" license. The NISL has
made contact with NSCAA and they will review all applications

PLAYER MOVEMENT CLARIFICATION
509a. Player Transfers
Once a player signs a registration form, the player is bound to that specific Club for the duration of the Soccer Playing Year (August 1st - July 31st). If, at any time between December, January or February, a competitive player requests to transfer to another Club, that player must complete and submit a Player Request Transfer Form to the NISL Administrative Office. The player must also submit a Transfer Request Fee of $100
509b. Player Movement Within Their Own Club
Players with a US Club pass are allowed to play on any age-appropriate team within their own Club, or may be assigned to any team that is no more than two years older than the registered player unless otherwise allowed/directed by the League, up to available roster size per age.
For Clubs that have multiple teams within specific age groups, a player may move freely among those multiple teams. HOWEVER – moving players down within their own age group to win games is not the intent of this rule. The player’s development should always be at the forefront of any player movement within a Club.
Scheduled to kick off in the fall, the NPL includes many of the nation’s top clubs in geographically-based leagues, with each independently-operated NPL linked with the others under the same technical guidelines, philosophies and structure. Additionally, every NPL will include an integrated Player Development Program within US Club Soccer’s id2 Program to provide additional exposure and development opportunities for the top players within the NPL.
The NISL has established a partnership with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) to reinforce the culture that the NISL has established over the many years of operation. This ensures a positive, character-building experience for all youth athletes in NISL programs. PCA is a non-profit organization that conducts workshops for coaches, organizational leaders, and parents involved in our league.
